Welcome to the 2008 1vs1 BZFlag Championship!

Rules and Organisation
- The players first play in eight different groups and the best two players in each group will attempt the finals. The official matches must be declared using the /contest command. All championship games also count for the 1vs1 regular tournament. The servers will send me the results automatically, so you don't need to report them.
- Players are put in groups based on their ZELO score: players with similar ZELO will not be joined to the same group, so pro players have less chances to fight at early stage of competition!

Fancy style will be part of the tourney. You are allowed to play fancy style as official tourney matches if BOTH players agree. If one player does not agree, ducati will be the style to be played.
Maps are random and both players agree on the map before playing. Players can change the map by using the /superkill command.
If a player has much more than 200ms of lag or more than 10ms of jitter, the opponent has the right to refuse the game at any moment of the match. However, players who are not able to play with less lag can`t make it into the finals.
First Round
For the first round players will be put into 8 groups. Each player plays at most 2 games against each other opponent of the same group. The two players with the most points go to the finals. Each win brings 3 points and a loss 1 point. If a player doesnt show up (online stats will be looked up in strayer`s league player finder) he/she loses by forfeit. A forfeit gives 3 points to the other players and 0 points to the player who does not show up. If a player disappears during the game, the game will be won by the opponent by forfeit. If the opponent agrees, the match can be restarted or continued one time. The second disconnect in the same match, for any reason, results in a loss definetely.

Finals
For the second round, the first player in each group will play against the second of another group. Players of Group A will play players of Group E, etc.
The games will be played best two out of three. The player winning two matches will go to the next round.
Rules concerning lag and jitter are the same as for the first round.
